How it works
Three conversations, not thirty.
Most people put life insurance off because they imagine weeks of forms and a hard sell. Here is what actually happens, step by step.
01
Book 30 minutes
A conversation about what you are protecting. No paperwork, no medical, no pressure.
What to bring
- Roughly what you owe — mortgage, loans, anything that would outlive you
- Who depends on your income, and for how long
- Any cover you already hold, including through an employer
You leave knowing roughly how much cover the situation calls for, whether or not you go any further.
02
Review your options
Franca shops the carriers she is appointed with and comes back with the options that genuinely fit.
What to expect
- Nothing — this step is Franca's work, not yours
- Expect two or three real options rather than a single take-it-or-leave-it
- Each one comes with its trade-offs stated, including the reasons against
Real figures from real carriers, not an estimate. If nothing fits your budget, you will be told that too.
03
Put it in place
Apply, get underwritten, and know exactly what your family receives and when.
What to bring
- Identification and basic health history
- A medical exam only if the carrier and product require one
- Beneficiary details — the people who actually receive the money
Cover in force, and a plain-language summary of what it pays, to whom, and under what conditions.
Questions
What people ask first
- How long does the whole thing take?
- The first two steps usually happen within a week. Underwriting is the variable — some products issue in days, others take a few weeks depending on the carrier and whether an exam is needed.
- Does it cost anything to talk?
- No. The consultation is free and carries no obligation. Agents are paid by the carrier when a policy is placed, not by you for the advice.
- Do I need a medical exam?
- Not always. Several carriers offer no-exam underwriting for certain products and cover amounts. Whether you qualify depends on your age, health and how much cover you are applying for.
- What if I already have cover through work?
- Bring the details. Employer cover is worth having, but it usually ends when the job does and rarely amounts to more than a year or two of salary — so the question is what it leaves uncovered.
- Can I change my mind after applying?
- Policies carry a free-look period during which you can cancel for a full refund of premium. The exact length is set by state law and stated in your policy documents.

A 30-minute conversation costs you nothing and tells you exactly where you stand.
